True funny story . i was with an assigment group to the south Pacific islands of American Samoa. During the welcome ceremony by the High Chief , we were entertained by the local traditional dancers ( almost African). I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard … Jambo Bwana , Habari gani Mzuri sana, wageni mwakaribishwa, Samoa yetu hakuna Matata … ( though with an accent)… I didn’t want to create a scene since I was there as an American but I chatted with the group leader after and told him about the origin of the song . He told me it was introduced there by sailors a long time ago . I still haven’t dug into that history yet . You can imagine how fascinated I was …
