Govt provides 28.6bn/- for Geita region development
THE government has provided 28.6bn/- for the construction and revamping of various development projects in Geita region.

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa made the remarks here yesterday when addressing Muganza Ward residents in Chato District in the region, saying 16bn/- has been channeled to Chato District.

Majaliwa said the government wants to see every Tanzanian gets social services in their areas including health, education, water, energy and infrastructure.

He called on Geita regional officials to make sure the money is used for the intended purpose.

Speaking on the shortage of workers in the health sector, Majaliwa said the government continues to employ people in the sector to make sure people get better health services.

Majaliwa also instructed the management of Rural and Urban Water and Sanitation Authority (RUWASA) in Chato district to make sure 5.2bn/- provided for the implementation of the water project is well spent to enable the people get water.

He told RUWASA to make sure they start making feasibility studies to enable the use of water from Lake Victoria as the people living close to the lake lack sufficient supply of water.
