Why are Tanzanians building skyscrapers?, they don't have a strong financial or professional sector that needs to work in offices. I can bet my life that most of these buildings belong to the government which has no capacity to fully utilize them as most Tanzanians are in the informal economy that revolves in villages and small towns. However in Nairobi, apart from Upperhill area that has an oversupply other areas have at least 75% occupancy rates.

The difference between Kenya and Tanzania is the government and the people(human capital).

These Tanzanians have a proactive government that is efficient and less corrupt and that why most buildings are built by the government. On the other hand, Tanzania has a very week human capital and a weak private sector.

Meanwhile, Kenyan private sector is robust and active and almost all buildings are built by private institutions. Kenyans are being let down by their corrupt and inefficient government. The day we get a President like Kibaki only South Africa will dare compare themselves with us.

Its only some parts of Upperhill that have an oversupply of office space and this is because it is inaccessible via public transport and too expensive in the Covid 19 era. Westlands and CBD has higher occupancy rates.
You clearly don't know the dynamics of Nairobi.
Again, Kenya's economy has been mismanaged from 2016 by government policies a such as the interest rates capping law of 2016 and the inefficient payment of tenders. Unfortunately, the government scrapped these adverse laws early 2020 and covid kicked in further taking the economy south. After Covid 19 things will be different.

Turkana is the poorest county in Kenya which receives Kshs. 9 billion every financial year from the government, they have a County government that is not serious enough. Counties like Makueni and Kitui used to be like this but they are now food sufficient. This is not France my friend, besides Turkana is an ASAL region if you went to school. I hope Tanzania is as rich as Canada from how you talk.
