Nyerere: The Man, The Myth and the Legend

Sasa Mkapa anabeba jukumu lolote la makosa yake? na mambo yake...? Ni watu wangapi ambao Nyerere alijua mambo yao na aliwaacha serikalini na walikuwa na mwelekeo wa ubepari? Dr. Salim si alikuwa na miradi yake muda wote aliokuwa mtumishi? Je ni Mkapa peke yake wakati wa Mwalimu aliyesomesha watoto wake nje ya nchi? Je ni Mkapa peke yake ambaye alikuwa na familia waliokuwa wakifanya kazi nje ya nchi?

Ni lini Mkapa atabeba lawama zake mwenyewe kwa kuwajibika kwake mwenyewe?

My point was that this was a initiative that was part of a larger macro-economic policy reform. Zimbambwe is a completely different case and irrelevant with regards to this... (the country has sanctions imposed upon it)...

The Question is would devaluing the currency as part of greater macro-economic reform initiative have impacted the country negatively or positively.

If Nyerere had acted earlier on many things we would have been in a different situation today come fisadi or angels....

Mwanakijiji ulichokifanya hapa ni academic obfuscation na intellectual dishonesty inayokaribia jinai ya fikra.

Unasema tusifanye tathmini za kihistoria kwa sababu siku zote ukiangalia nyuma lazima uone makosa. Wajua fika umuhimu wa kuchambua historia, na huwa unafanya hicho kitu kila kukicha. Hapa wajifanya hujui. Watuambia hakuna aliyekamilika, kwa hiyo tusiangalie nyuma. Ni intellectua dishonesty ya hali ya juu, juu, juu karibia moral dishonesty ya nemesis wako wa kina Lowassa. Au hata Andrew Chenge.

Jinai ya usanii wa mawazo unaoutenda hapa ni kujaribu deflect swali la kuchemsha kulipeleka kwingine, eti tuangalie mbele, na kwamba tujiulize nani anatufaa mbeleni. All that for the sake of blind and unquestioning, if not unreasoned, defence of Nyerere?

Nyerere abhored explitation of these international FIs, he couldnt budge into their reckless and shrewd conditionalities all meant at exploiting our resources negatively. He used to say, kwani hayo madini yanaoza, waache wajukuu zetu wakiwa na uwezo watayachimba. So he meant well and knew too well that budging was tantamount to defeat! hejust couldnt stand them. So come Mwinyi, Mkapa and Kiwete, what have they done! Zero, well, may be zero is too much! I think it is negative coz we are poorer now and what we had is being taken away!

I agree with what you are saying that Mwinyi, Mkapa & Kikwete wote wame chemsha vile vile in there own regards... However that does not exempt uchemshaji wa Mwalimu.. In other words Mwalimu set the stage for everything that we are experiencing today and that is the Fact... Lakini kama ninavyo sema alikua mtaalum wakuji-distance from his wrong-doings. Had he been concentrated on bulding sound macro-economic management policies instead of using our nation as a guinea pig for socialism we would have been elsewhere today so whether we like it or not he was very instrumental in bringing us to our current situation including his endorsement of Mwinyi, Mkapa & Kikwete...
 
Did Julius K Nyerere deserve to be called all these names.
1.manipulator
2.An embarrasment.
3.Despot or tyrant or dictator.
In Issa Shivji's new book the so called 'Father of the Nation'has been called all these names on how he manipulated Zanzibar to form the Union Government.

Unanilaumu mimi au Issa Shivji mwandishi wa hiko kitabu na Proffessor aliyebobea na kuheshimika nchini?haya maneno yalinigusa nami pia ndio maana nikaona niyaweke humu JF ili waungwana wa kuchambua watoe maoni yao pia.Dont be too much judgemental.
