Majaliwad to lay foundation stones for ten development projects
PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa is today expected to lay foundation stones for ten development projects worth 855bn/- in five districts within Kagera Region.

The premier will be in Kagera for a five-day official tour whereas he is expected to visit and inspect implementation of development projects in Kyerwa, Karagwe, Biharamulo, Bukoba-Urban and Ngara districts.

Addressing journalists yesterday, Kagera Regional Commissioner, Charles Mbuge said that while in the region, Majaliwa will also inspect implementation progress of two privately owned projects.

“The premier will inspect eight state-owned projects and another two privately owned companies. The state-owned project worth 845bn/- in total,” he said.

Mbuge said that in Biharamulo District, the prime minister will launch and lay a foundation stone for construction of a dry dock worth 2.6bn/- at the Nyakanazi area. In Ngara District he will launch a coffee processing factory worth 6bn/- and an 816bn/- hydropower project at Rusumo ward.

He said in Kyerwa District there are a number projects including a minerals processing factory worth 4bn/-, Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) building worth 483.4bn/- as well as a project for construction of a 703m/- house for the district commissioner.

While in Karagwe District, Majaliwa will inspect two projects worth 6.9bn/- which includes rehabilitation of the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) College.

In Bukoba-Urban District, Majaliwa will launch the Kemondo water project (15.8bn/) and hospital construction project worth 2.3bn/-
