SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR POSTDOCTORAL POSITION

Introduction

The University of Dar es Salaam, through funding from the AIR Equity InitiativeP3- Africa Programme, is offering a full-time post-doctoral/sabbatical position for eligible candidates to further their research portfolio.

Key Qualification
• A Ph.D. in any economics related studies within the last four years.

• Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.

General Requirement for the Postdoc Position

• The scholarship is intended only for UDSM Academic Staff on payroll with permanent and pensionable terms.

• Candidate must be ready to commit full time to this postdoctoral position during the specified period of time.

• Evidence of scientific publication from which at least one publication is from the PhD work is a mandatory.

• Candidates must be able to communicate clearly in both written documents and oral presentations;

• The candidates must work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds and have the ability to make independent decisions on research directions. while maintaining regular communication with the project contact at the School of Economics, University of Dar es Salaam and P3-Africa.

• The length of the Fellowship is one year, divided into an initial six (6) month period renewable for further six (6) months upon successful completion of the established deliverables.

• The successful applicant will be affiliated with AIR as a post-doctoral fellow and will be assigned to an AIR senior staff member for mentorship and research guidance.

Salary

The rate paid for the postdoc will be USD 22,000 per year. In addition, AIR will support travel, boarding and lodging to one international conference where the candidate appears on the programme as either presenter or discussant.
