So what? What’s the significance of a big party that maims? What you are talking is irrelevant.
The whole election was shambolic.
- There was violence in most polling stations on election day.
- The entire country experienced a power blackout.
- The internet went down.
- There were no international election observers or opposition agents allowed to monitor the process.
- Voting was done completely by hand. no electronic systems were used.
In Kenya for instance, some differences are,
-Electronic System: Kenya uses the KIEMS Kit (Kenya Integrated Elections Management System).
Voter Checks: This includes Biometric Voter Registration and the Electronic Voter Identification Device (EVID). Every voter is checked individually using technology before they can cast their vote.
Result Transmission: After the counting is done and verified by all party representatives, the results are sent electronically (Electronic Results Transmission System) to a central national tallying location.
-Transparency: Because the results are publicly available from each polling station, independent media and political parties can count the votes themselves (parallel tallying).
- Conditions: The election was conducted with no problems with the internet or power, and there were live broadcasts of the process with minor to negligible violence incidents
With all this technology, live TV coverage, stable power and internet, and open access for media and parties to verify votes, Kenya counts about 14 million votes and announces results after six days.
Yet magically Tanzania counts 38 million votes and announce results within 3 days.
Not to mention a nearly 90% voter turnout with all the violence while we had a 64% turnout in 2022
Kenya may not be perfect but I think this calls for at least some scrutiny if at all you respect yourself
