Yani kabisa unaamini a place like Pipeline which you often call a slum ni moja ya sehemu nzuri Nairobi? Kweli Nairobi ni ya kipekee. Sasa nikikuletea za South C, Lang'ata, Donholm, and other middle income areas utasemaje?

Talking of Uthiru, here it is

Do the sprawling uswazis of Dar even come close?

Naona umeshindwa kutuonesha slum za Nairobi. Angalia mwenyewe hapa. Tanzania nzima hakuna sehemu mbaya kama hii 🤮🤮

Do you know the meaning of the word "national poverty line"? You think countries have the same national poverty lines?

Different countries have different national poverty lines. Ya Tanzania haiwezikuwa same na ya Kenya au Uganda.

For instance, Kenya's national poverty line is Ksh 4,300 per month in rural areas and Ksh 8,000 per month in urban areas.
This basically means that 36% of Kenyans can not afford at least KSH 4,300 per month to survive. That's around 20 million people on the higher side.

Tanzania's national poverty line is Tsh49,000 (Ksh2,450) per month, way lower than Kenya's. What this means is that 26% of Tanzanians, roughly 17 million people, are unable to afford Ksh 2,500 per month to survive, which is a lower amount compared to Kenya's minimum amount which is Ksh 4,300 (almost twice the amount).

If we were to use the international poverty line of $1.9 per day (which is about 7,000ksh per month), you would see how badly off Tanzania would rate in comparison to Kenya.
