Kenya is hindered by the River Nile Treaty signed I guess before independence which limits countries on Lake Victoria and along the Nile on utilizing or exploiting, as it is a lifeline for Egyptians as far as fresh water and food production is concerned, kuna international laws on that. Though Kenya wants to sign another pact with EAC and other countries that will allow it to use the water, I don't know how far they have gone with it, read sometime back.

What you have said is true but Tanzania ni vichwa ngumu wamejenga pipeline from Lake Victoria hadi Dodoma. Ethiopia pia ni vichwa ngumu na wamejenga Gerd despite Egypt kubweka bweka. It is about time we ignore these colonial treaties and go ahead and build our country. Egypt walie wakitaka but we should tap water from lake Victoria (which is the second biggest fresh water lake in the world) and distribute it to Northern Kenyan regions. Also, during oil search it was discovered Kenya has lots of water underground that can serve the country for 70 years!
It's called Lotikipi Aquifer, if am not wrong. Tatizo pia is our government, especially county govts in ASAL areas.., why can't they tap the resource?.., Lake victoria is far, and water is beneath them, we just need proper leadership.
