Aight, you asked why so let me apply my logic to answer.

First off i ain't no professional but clearly from the aerial view, you cant really tell how high that elevation is.. that section is an elevated overpass and they did that on purpose. you can see there is a rail passing underneath meaning there should be clearance at least 20 or so Feet high before descending.Therefore it would be a dangerous descent down the ramp along the path you labeled in red especially since there is a highway right at the foreground (right side) hence there had to be a curve to lower the steep drop.

Now, I wonder what they teach you simpletons in school but seems there is need for a complete overhaul of your education system if you keep bothering us with basic things that you can apply simple logic.
