I have reasons to believe that Tanzania will end up being the most prosperous country in East Africa, eclipsing Kenya by a mile in the next 5-10 years because of the following undeniable facts:

Tanzania is strategically positioned
The Port of Dar Es Salaam serves as a gateway to Malawi, Zambia, Burundi, Rwanda, UG and the DRC.

Kenya fumbled the bag on the LAPSSEG project, the Lamu port etc etc and all our business went to Tanzania.
Tanzania is almost safe from Islamic extremism and military attacks from Somali jihadists since Kenya acts as a buffer zone between the two countries. This means Kenya shoulders the burden of fighting against radical Islam because we’re right next to those infidels. Before reaching Tanzania, Alshabaab must first reach Kenya and hence we have to take them head on. It is for this reason that the Kenyan coast can never become what the Tanzanian coast is. It’s too unsafe……80% of it is prone to terrorist attacks from Somalia. We can’t even utilize North Coast and therefore that land lies idle.
Economic Positioning as the second fiddle to Kenya.

Although all illicit money from East and Central Africa all ends up in Nairobi real estate, this is actually a good thing for Tanzanian citizens. It means they’ll never get locked out of property and economic opportunities in their own country by foreigners with illegal money from piracy, money laundering, illegal mining activities etc. Kenyans for example are completely locked out from Real estate in their own country because they’re easily outbid by aliens who have all the money from oil smuggling in the Sudan, illegal mining in the DRC, piracy money from Somalia and money laundering from Rwanda. We’re right at the epicenter of it because Nairobi is where money is officially cleaned. Kenya enjoys a stable peaceful economy relative to our neighbors and so this blessing cum curse means we have become an investment haven. There’s nowhere else in the region for people to park money (Mogadishu is dead, Kigali has no might, Kampala is backward, Tanzania is socialist, Malawi is fucked……so this leaves Nairobi). Tanzanians therefore remain unaffected by the displacement of locals by so-called expats/aliens/foreigners.
Nationalist Ideologies
Tanzania places Tanzanians first and foremost above everyone else. Foreigners can’t own residential land there (why can’t Kenya have such a law?). Even buying of property must be done through a company and a Tanzanian must own 70% shares in it and/or have $2.5M capital to circumvent this requirement. It means that Tanzanians get to benefit from any investment by an alien individual from countries like Kenya, America or wherever. This is huge.

Tanzanians have embraced a unified national identity where everyone identifies as Tanzanian first before anything else. They are a proud country and don’t suck up to foreigners. This mentality is great for growth and self-respect as a people.

Tourism
They have a strategic tourism blue print that actually works unlike Kenya where we’re making it impossible to access national parks by hiking rates and them being a haven for illegal mining activities therefore destroying the fauna and flora of our parks. In recent years, their earnings from tourism have eclipsed Kenya and we will never catch up with them. In fact, diaspora remittances are now our biggest foreign exchange earner way ahead of tourism. That’s why Ruto wants all of you to leave Kenya and send $$. It’s unsustainable!!
Population
By the year 2100, Tanzania is projected to have about 250M+ people while Kenya’s is probably going to range between 80M-120M. They’ll have labor in abundance and they’re not telling their young ones to go clean toilets in Qatar.
