Everyone passing by Tanzania, before settling in Kenya as home.
How many YouTubers/influencers have moved permanently to bongovumbi?
I saw one in bongo a while back who was so excited to move to Dar, can't remember her name.
She quickly found out why Tanzania is an LDC, and why expats move to Nairobi instead. 😂 😂 😂
Beyond the 3rd class BRT and 2 or 3 highways, Dar is what I would describe as Nairobi in the late 90s to mid 2000s.
1970s - 80s architecture. Your CBD looks worse than our downtown. Vast number of empty prime plots.
While a dictatorial government can divert country money to the capital to build shiny roads, the pockets of the landlords and tenants don't lie.
Worse part, even the newer buildings and many of those under construction in Dar, look like buildings we built in Kenya in the 2000s.
Many new ones are too short for their prime location, meaning Dar will be a midget city for a very long time.
This Congolese guy described it best recently. After leaving Dar unimpressed, he could not stop comparing Nairobi to
Guangzhou and Atlanta.
I can't remember the number of times he said African leaders, particularly his own country DRC and Tanzania, should come to Nairobi and benchmark.

If Bongoslum you don't do anything by 2027, you'll leave Afcon very exposed. 😂😂
Nairobi can stop all construction right now, and we'll still be the better city for 95% of visitors in 2027.
Once the Nairobi river park is done by 2027, it's literally game over for bongoslum. 😂😂
