Now, the price of something might be cheaper in Tanzania, say a kilogram of meat costs KES 400 in Tz and KES 650 in Kenya. However, the average Kenyan might have the capacity to buy a kilogram of meat every day at 650 while the average Tanzanian might not be able to afford it everyday at 400. That'll make Kenya to have a higher purchasing power that Tanzanian even though Tanzania has a lower cost of living. That's why countries like USA are said to have very high purchasing power even though they have a very high cost of living. Comprehende?
