“Country bus” buses.

Hizi ni kama matatu though they also do long distance. They don’t have offices and pick and drop people along the way as they go. They are not express. These are the kind of buses that don’t have constant fare rates, in the morning you might find them charging 800 bob from Nairobi to Kisumu but in the evening on the same day they will want to charge you 2000bob. They focus mainly on supply and demand to dictate the fare prices. Their are given once you are inside the vehicle and they are handwritten, on the receipt part you have to take cause there are a lot conmen there.

They don’t specific departure and arrival time, they only leave the station once it’s filled even if it means it will take a whole day. They are mostly borded by those who doesn’t like to follow rules and they are cheap on a normal day. Where an office bus will charge you 2000 they will either charge you 1200-1500. These buses all have 3*2 seat configuration to maximize on profit. There are no booking of seats here and once you paid you can seat anywhere you like. These buses are usually disorderly.
Thanks for insight Teargas. I have noted some points there.

They look unorganized (Considering their large number it not wise to be unorganized)

Do you have "LATRA" I means authority that govern them. Noticing explanations on Fare change its not healthy.

And these people who don't follow law (can't they be curbed) and they look they are too many means lawless population must be shocking.

These points makes transportation system fall short.

Once again thanks for insight 🙏
