Most of those cities you are calling outdated are listed in the UNESCO World Heritage sites (Or have very important UNESCO heritage sites). This means they have great importance and exceptional value to humanity (Cultural, historical, or architectural significance). Such include Venice, Cairo, Paris, Jerusalem, Kyoto, Istanbul, Athens, Rome et al. and are considered the most beautiful cities in the world. All these cities have no skyscrapers or blue glass whatsoever. If it happens there are cotemporary buildings with "blue glass", none of them comes even close to being listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In fact buildings in Europe have strict zoning laws and building codes and it is very rare to find skyscrapers, let alone tall buildings with "blue glass". The laws are so strict that Architects are even arrested for just designing renders of a building that flaunts height restrictions and building codes (Not even constructing, just designing). Norman Foster's architecture was heavily criticized in England and he was fined heavily for just proposing renders of those blue buildings you are yapping about. If tall buildings and blue glass is the criteria you guys use for determining the beauty of a city, I think think y'all need mental checkup cause that clearly is mental illness. Cities like New York, Jakarta, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur et al. do not have any UNESCO World Heritage Sites within their municipal boundaries despite having lots of skyscrapers with blue glass. So UNESCO are mad people for listing the Taj Mahal, India; a building with no blue glass on its exterior facade; as a building with great architectural significance to humanity, and not HSBC tower headquarters in Hong Kong?

Here are some of the buildings listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. These are buildings with outstanding value and importance to humanity. They have great architectural, cultural and historical significance and are protected by UNESCO and other legal frameworks in their respective countries.

Taj Mahal, India

Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Westminster Abbey, United Kingdom

Just to name a few.

And just so you know, UNESCO World Heritage Sites are not only ancient buildings. Here are some contemporary buildings that feature in the UNESCO World Heritage List;

Sydney Opera House, Australia

Guggenheim Museum Bilba, Spain (I am still wondering why that ugly monstrosity in the background never qualified as a UNESO World Heritage Site despite being covered with blue glass all over!)

The Jantar Mantar, India

Mansion de la Culture, France

This building is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its Architectural significance and the influence it has in the Architectural world. If blue glass was the criteria for listing beautiful buildings, why are those buildings you posted not listed by UNESCO as having great architectural significance?

I also like wooden buildings because they are beautiful. Wooden buildings are more beautiful due to their natural aesthetic that is appealing to people. Wood also has a sense of connection to nature.

This building is of great significance than you might imagine. It's architect is Le Cobrusier, renowned as the father of modern architecture. The styles he used in construction of his buildings are the ones widely used for construction of many buildings in the modern world. Features such as open floor plans, roof gfardens, designing using pillars etc were developed from his works. This building was one of his pioneering works.
