I was an architecture student for two years before switching my career path. And there is where I learnt that It is quite difficult for people who didn't study architecture to appreciate some architectural designs that have a lot of significance. This building for instance, and other Le Cobrusier works fall under a type of Modern Architecture style called Brutalist Architecture. The style focuses on appreciating the raw beauty of concrete with minimal or no decorations. The influence the movement (Brutalism) had on modern buildings is quite immense, but people won't really appreciate such, this building for example.

Sasa jiulize kati ya St Basil's Cathedral (Moscow, Russian) na Sydney Opera House (Sydney, Austarlia) jengo lipi lilitakiwa kuwekwa kwenye orodha kwanza?

Where is alternative proof that Dar's real estate is worth more than Nairobi's? Apart from the World Bank cliche article y'all are used to posting here? I remember you were also a staunch supporter of the motion that Dar's real estate is worth more than Nairobi's.

Umesema huamini sources za wazungu lakini hizo sources huwa mnaleta hapa ni za hao hao wazungu. The case of World Bank. So tuamini World Bank lakini tusiamini UNESCO? The double standards!

The United States has only 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Last time I checked). China, ile huwa mnaisifu hapa, has 56. Wazungu ndio wamesema hio. Are you happy now? There are certain criteria that a heritage resource has to meet for it to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If it is not listed, then a certain reason is behind that. For instance, a site might have been associated with slavery or war in historical times which might disqualify it. Heritage sites are those of outstanding importance to humanity, therefore certain criteria must be met.

Acha kuruka ruka, jibu hoja yangu, Saint Basil's Cathedral ya Moscow ina miaka zaidi ya 500 na historia kubwa, kwa nini halikuwekwa kwenye hiyo list mpaka 1990 kama siyo siasa?

Your countrymen are fools and you need to educate them. The argument started because your fellow countryman feels that a building can only be beautiful if it has blue glass, the fact that you allow such kind of stupid arguments to hold water disqualifies you from from making and statements stemmed from logic.

China has 56 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Russia 29, USA (The "West" yenye mnachukia) has 24. Does that make you feel better now?

Just fact checked, I gave a bit of wrong info there. Still doesn't change that a site isn't just declared a UNESCO World Heritage site out of the blues. Serengeti is in the UNESCO list yet Masai Mara is not. I might as well ask why Masai Mara wasn't listed. And it still narrows down to specific criteria set by UNESCO that have to be met.

Let me debunk your statement about slavery being used to disqualify a particular site. In Tanzania (Zanzibar) we have the House of Wonders as a UNESCO world Heritage site, that building my friend, is slave money.

Bro Masai Mara is tiny., may be that's why. It doesn't have as much biodiversity as Serengeti.

That is why I used the word "Might". Again, it is a combination of different criteria that are used to declare a site. Most sites that were related to slavery in the past have applied to be listed but faced challenges due to their history related to slavery. For instance Mount Vernon (USA). They have applied and had discussions for it to be listed several times but has never been. Again slavery is just one factor, there are many other factors considered.
