Our sgr was costly because of many reasons
1. Land compensation. People had to be compensated for their land unlike in Tanzania where land is owned by the government and there was no compensation
1. The terrain. Unlike your sgr, ours required many bridges in several areas and eVn tunnels. Tanzania's only has a bridge in central Dar while ours have several of them in the game reserves it traverses
3. Specifications. Our sgr needed special specifications that would enable it handle double stack. I doubt if this is the case with yours. This means greater cargo volumes.
4. Stations. This needs no explaining. You only have one standard Railway Station along the entire line while we have 9 modern sgr stations between Nairobi and Mombasa
