I actually find older cities such as Paris more beautiful than monstrous concrete jungles such as Dubai. From the air, the modern ones might look better but on ground, new cities have better NMT infrastructure and are created more for living than business and showing of might. If you travel to Europe, you'll find most cities have numerous narrow cobblestone streets just created for pedestrians with several squares and beautiful external restaurants. Very beautiful. Like here in Budapest.

There's no city in China that can compare with Chicago, even Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Shenzen (which are the 4 most developed cities in China) still have catching up to do. In Asia, the only cities that one can dare compare with Chicago are Tokyo, Seoul and Singapore.....and when I talk about development I mean:-

3. Walkability
4. Safety
5. Public transport
6. Private transport
7. Walkability
8. Housing
9. Health and quality of hospitals
10. Average earnings relative to cost of living

12. Sanitation and sanitation infrastructure
