I know, I'm beating the dead horse here, but... whatever! I've said it before, majority of Tanzanians shop at "dukas" which are everywhere in their neighborhoods, they don't need to go to the malls. Are there few people who go to Mlimani city, sure, but that is a very small percentage of the population.

Jumia closed in Tz because they were trying to sell ice to the Eskimos, if you can't sell your product or service, don't blame the customer. That's marketing 101.

If Tanzanians don't need malls then why do you have the few ones in the first place? Why invest in something that you don't need? Look mate, your statements are self-defeating.

Jumia closed business because Tanzanians don't shop online. They are too analogue. They still believe in what we call "kadogo economy" here in Kenya. In short, they don't have purchasing power. Stop looking for flimsy excuses because dukas are everywhere in Kenya but shopping malls are still attracting a good number of shoppers even as most people still do their shopping in dukas.

We are not making a big shit out of anything. We are just reminding you that we have a bigger purchasing power than you (read Tanzanians) and I know it's a bitter pill to take. Adios!

Malls zilishapitwa na wakati, hayo ni mambo ya 1950's huko, kufika 2005, malls zilianza kufungwa kwenye nchi za watu.

Sio utamaduni wa watanzania kununua vyakula supermarket, hii ni kutokana na historia ya hizi supermaket. Zilipoanzishwa miaka ya 1990 -1992 (mfano Dallas Supermaket na Best Buy Supermarket), walikuwa wanauza baadhi vitu vilivyo expire.

Miaka hiyo (kipindi cha ruksa) Tanzania ilikuwa dampo la vyakula vya nje vilivyoharibika. Wafanyabiashara wasio waaminifu, waliingiza vinywaji kama bia za Stella Artois na watu walibwia kama hawana akili nzuri, kumbe zilikuwa zime expire. Baadae watu wakakosa imani na hizi supermarket.
