Kuhusu cost is totally okay thats like 320mil usd and its a airport from scartch...yan kulikuwa hamna airport kabsa unafanya iwepo ..so its fair..kumbuka Songwe international airport took 8years kuijenga na bado kuna vitu haijatimiza...Building an airport from scartch is costfull sana kuna zaid ya terminal builidng ,kuna runway, control tower, parking , plus equipments ..nchi nyngne hio gharama ni ya terminal Tu ..na hapo wasipokaa sawa hio hela inaeza kuwa bado

ila runway ya international standards ina gharama mzee! Usichukulie poa angalia runway ya Songwe airport imebidi ibanduliwe na kampuni kushitakiwa! Ila Watanzania nasi ni wabishi yaani international airport ya capacity ya PAX 1.5 mln kwa $272 mln to be built from scratch with runway 3.8 km long n fully equipped tunaona ghali? Nipeni mfano wa international airport iliyo bei ya chini!

Upcoming Msalato International Airport

Jamaa wametengeneza comparison reports za kimagumashi ili tu kujustify their grand graft schemes. Sasa ukiita hio waliojenga ni Chinese Class 1 je ile Shanghai - Beijing line itakua ni Class gani?

SGR ya TZ sio AREMA specs per se but rather ni hybrid ya AREMA na western European specs. Ndio maana hata contractual modality yetu ni design and build, I will tell you why, see below:

The AREMA specs are charcterised of heavy grades and sharp curves optmised for low-speed, low-cost, long distance heavy cargo transport ideal for the continental American geographical landscape. The priority is cargo over passenger transportation. This is because most American industrial and mining activities are in the hinterlands, while most of major high density population centers are located far apart.

The EU railway codes are charcterised by very smooth tangential curves almost straight lines optinised for high speed, passenger transportation, this is due to the fact that most high density European population centers are within short distances.

Now, the TZ SGR is carefully designed taking the best from both worlds:

Taking the AREMA's heavy cargo advantage due to the very same reasons as Americans that TZ territory is vast, heavy rail to serve the hinterlands plus neighbors where the majority of mining, agricultural and the future Industrial base are located.

Taking the western European's high speed advantage due to the very same reasons as the Europeans that TZ is a populous country with major high density centers not so far wide apart. This is why the TZ SGR do not have sharp tangential curves and it can reach above 160 km/hr.

Taking the latest European rail safety approaches by adopting the following:

- the signaling and control standards called ETCS-2.

-the latest European traffic management starndard called ERTMS.

It is worth to note that the ETCS standard can only be used in a continuous welded railway, forget about it if your track is not continuous🙂

To put a cherry on top, TZ SGR is electrified, no environmental pollution za Gari moshi🙂

I think I have summarised well enough why TZ opted for the design and build approach to make our SGR the best in the region.

On a lighter note, nilikua ktk shughuli Beijing nikakutana na jamaa wa CRBC waliowaingiza mjini jirani wa China Class 1, wacha wamlalamikie JPM kwa kuwabania ulaji wa SGR ya TZ, kumbe walikuwa tayari wameshaweka mambo sawa kipindi cha JK, tungepigwa kisawasawa... At least M7 ameshtuka mapema.
