let's assume you are neither a kenyan nor a tanzanian, just a poor and stupid migrant from some country in central africa trying his luck in search of a better life in nairobi.

Whatever. but the reality remains reality. Nairobi has the following attributes as compered to the poor Dar city

1. She accommodates a vast numbers of industries
2. She is visited by numerous tourists annually
3. Nairobi has leading universities and schools in the region
4. Best hotels with international standards
5. well equipped with technology
6. well trusted by investors
7. the leading infrastructure in eastern africa is found in Nairobi
8. social amenities like hospitals are found in Nairobi as compered to Dar
9. stunning projects, both ongoing and proposed

by the way those opinions above are not new to me/us. have been said or written a hundred times by kenyans.

i thought you would come up with a useful analysis regarding house ownership in nairobi.huna jipya.

Tanzanians walipata kichapo cha mbwa kwa real estate hehehe. Sasa ni kujitetea na random houses. ...hizo ndio runda ya Tanzania. Ei...hawa ndugu zetu wa LDC wana issues kweli.....reality ni that country bado iko chini sana kimaendeleo. Building a city needs good plan and hard work.So no excuses please Mr kadoda.....hata Kampala is better planned than your Dar. What a shame!

Well said. hata vast cities na big cities in the world kama vile Shanghai, beijing, Tokyo, Sydney, London, New york, Paris, Las vegas, Los Angeles na nyingine nyingi watu wanaishi kwenye appartments, hutakuta mwehu kajenga kibanda chake kama ilivyo dar.
Mji kuwa na vibanda vingi ni kukosa utaratibu wa Real Estate. Poor town planning ni moja ya sababu viwanja dar ni very cheap, hata machinga na wavuvi wananunua na kumiliki viwanja.
Ukiwa dar uanfanya kazi yeyote au biashara, au hata kulima bustani ukashindwa kumiliki kiwanja basi hakika wewe ni hohehahe kabisa, maskini wa kutupwa. Dar kiwanja cha kujenga nyumba unapata hadi kwa USD 1500. What a poor city!
Kwa kufuata mipango miji, dar ni mwanafunzi tu kwa Nairobi. bila town planning kila mtu atajijengea atakavyo tu. dar ni moja ya miji ambayo iko poor planned.
Jiji kuwa na vibanda vinavyomilikiwa na watu binafsi si kulifanya liwe kubwa au zuri. Miji mizuri kama Rome (italy), Budapest, Amsterdam, venice na mingine mingi ina majengo ambayo ether ni Public owned au ni multi storey.
Haiingii akilini leo tuupime mji na kuuona uko juu kisa tu kuna wendawazimu wanamiliki vibanda vyao binafsi. Ingekuwa ndo hivyo basi miji kama Mogadishu ingeongoza. Miji ya kisasa haijengwi kwa kujaza vijibanda tu kama kwa wafuga kuku.
Pengine dar wanamudu kujenga vibanda vyao,, lakini kiuhalisia vinafaa kufugia kuku na bata tu.

ona sasa hizo hostel mnazoleta kuwa na akili....hiyo ni mali ya mtu mmoja na si mmoja mmoja......huko kapuku kama wewe hauwezi ishi na huku dar zipo izo sema hatujawaonyesha kwa maana twahitaji maisha ya uasilia

bado tu waleta apartment za kijiji.....zinazofanana na kumilikiwa apartment na mtu mmoja.....jiongeze wakenya asilia hawaishi kwa hizo apartment coz hawana pesa.

clearly haujui apartment ni nini. Hizo nyumba ni tofauti zote, na ziko kwa parcels of land different. ata macho hauwezi tumia.
