You can't put zebra crossing on a busy highway of more than four lanes. That's a death trap. In Nairobi, footbridges are erected on busy highways, not just any other road.

As long as hiyo pillar hapo katikati ya barabara iko, those cables play no role at all coz they are not suporting the bridge deck. It's just a beatification thing but there's nothing wrong with that

No, on all major roads. Mombasa road, Outering road, Jogoo road, Thika road, Lang'ata road, Ngong road.... The list is endless. But Thika road has many footbridges than any other considering it's length (50 kms) and size (ten lanes in some sections minus service lanes)
