The difference is most of them are old less than 5 storeys buildings

Hata Kenya NHC has been doing so for a long time . Also every town in Kenya has municipal, town or county council houses . Some of the affordable housing projects especially in Nairobi are being built on same land after demolition of the old city council houses . State corporations like Kenya Railways has had affordable housing for the staff since independence. Old Muthurwa estate in Nairobi is an example though is being replaced by modern skyscrapers via the upcoming Railway city . There are many other state corporations housing estates. The reason why affordable housing is special is because it’s modern and in large scale grand scheme compared to the past . More attention like amenities and better public spaces have been considered. It’s helping decongest cities and towns through proper planning and management. It’s also open to all citizens . I am sure you have seen the skyscrapers being built all over the country.
