Michel Angelo's Reconnaissance styles of Romanisque, Rococo and Baroque that embraced Ornamental Architecture is not only outdated! but also obsolete!. and was only practices in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The current 'Modern Architecture' or the 'International Style' is a style initiated in the 1920s by the following philosophers, who believed in 'Simplicity' and 'Non-Ornamental Structures'. That's when skyscrapers were introduced, and they believed tht for a building to go up many storeys, the building should be very light, hence emphasised on use of only 'Steel&Glass'

Examples of these modern architects include:-

-Frank Lloyd Wright [FLW], and who is famous for his phylosophy, The Prairie and Usonian Style.

-Mies Van de Rohe, who is famous for his famous phylosophy, The Bauhau and Stijl style. He also believed in 'Free Circulation and Open Interconnecting Spaces(rooms) within the house'. His famous quotes are like:-
-"Less is more".
-"Simplicity is Complexity".
-"God is in the detail"


-Le Cobusier who believed that modern building should look and feel like machines. among his famous concepts included 'suspension of ground floor for highrise buildings to allow for vehicle parking lots. he believed tht in the future, vehicles will be many. He also believed in, incorporating greenery vegetations within the exterior floors of highrise buildings. He also embraced Ribbon Windows.. ie. continuous running windows

-other influential 'modern' architects of the 1920s onwards include the likes of:-
▪︎Louis Sullivan ie.(The Father of Modern Skyscrapers)
▪︎Walter Gropius.
▪︎Peter Bherens.


more recent recognised modern architects with specific philosophies include:-
-Hadid Zaha (the Queen of curves), who designed the famous, Fifa2022 "Vagina" Stadium in Qatar🇶🇦, and the famous Beijing International Airport. etc etc.

I took an Art History class when I was in college many years ago, and I completely disagree with your view of disregarding renaissance revival, rococo, and baroque architecture. I think such overly Romantic design forms are essential in our age, considering the bland modern architecture that exists today.

It’s important to design a building by taking into account the context of where it’s being built – it’s history, climate, landscape, culture, and locally-available building materials. The newly constructed state house in Dodoma looks foreign and alienated. It doesn’t fit with the surroundings as the original building does at Magogoni. Dodoma is not a Swahili town, and neither is it influenced by the same factors as Dar es Salaam.

We do not identify with Greek or Roman cultures either, so I wouldn’t recommend building a state house that looks like a Pantheon with Corinthian Columns. What had to be done was an assessment of the new location, and the need to construct a state house that not only reflected the elements of the entire nation but also Dodoma itself.
