Is it just me or does that Ikulu look like it doesn’t belong there? The size of the plot surrounding it is unnecessary big and I don’t think they even consulted with a landscape architect.
Why build a replica while you could design a building with the considerations of the locale? The architecture looks so random and out of place. The building exhibits Arabian architecture whilst the exterior walls boast brutal modernism.
Don’t even get me started on the amount of water they’ll use to keep the lawns green year round.
Michelangelo's Reconnaissance styles of Romanisque, Rococo and Baroque that embraced Ornamental Architecture is not only outdated! but also obsolete!. and was only practices in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The current 'Modern Architecture' or the 'International Style' is a style initiated in the 1920s by the following philosophers, who believed in 'Simplicity' and 'Non-Ornamental Structures'. That's when skyscrapers were introduced, and they believed tht for a building to go up many storeys, the building should be very light, hence emphasised on use of only 'Steel&Glass'
Examples of these modern architects include:-
-Frank Lloyd Wright [FLW], and who is famous for his phylosophy, The Prairie and Usonian Style.
-Mies Van de Rohe, who is famous for his famous phylosophy, The Bauhau and Stijl style. He also believed in 'Free Circulation and Open Interconnecting Spaces(rooms) within the house'. His famous quotes are like:-
-"Less is more".
-"Simplicity is Complexity".
-"God is in the detail"
-Le Cobusier who believed that modern building should look and feel like machines. among his famous concepts included 'suspension of ground floor for highrise buildings to allow for vehicle parking lots. he believed tht in the future, vehicles will be many. He also believed in, incorporating greenery vegetations within the exterior floors of highrise buildings. He also embraced Ribbon Windows.. ie. continuous running windows
