So you concur that GDP is not a good measure of wealth sio? You can have a bigger GDP amid poverty everywhere likewise you can have a smaller GDP but wealthier. It all boils down to microeconomics of that particular country.

You are partially right but keep in mind that we are only talking about extreme poverty which is a small section of the population. It is still possible for Kenya to have a bigger and wealthier middle class than Zimbabwe. WB was only looking at one segment which is the people who are extremely poor, they were not doing research on everyone in the society. There is also poverty that is above extreme poverty. Yaani someone who can afford food and shelter but cannot afford health care or education. This person is still poor but is not extremely poor. So WB were only looking at one specific category which is extreme poverty. It is possible that Kenya has beaten Zimbabwe in the other categories, you never know. I would be slow to conclude that Zimbabweans are wealthier than Kenyans by looking only at one segment of the society.
