You bet, it's not everyone, it's just an average number, so why do you blindly think that I meant to say, the Irish need 240,000km of rail? It was an analogy, I was challenging your narrative, the so called developed. Does Ireland have the muscle to pull up funds to build any projects worth 240,000km of rail concurrently with other project just like the Chinese?

If you are sold with the idea that the average number (GDP) is the yardstick then Ireland should have the muscle to build infrastructure (any) worth eight times that of China to reflect its GPD number, regardless of it's size (area or population).

What makes you think China economic growth is worse than Austria? The G7 wouldn't have met earlier this year with one agenda, China, if it wasn't doing well economically.
