Tanzania: Tanga Cement says that talks with the government about a new 0.5 – 0.75Mt/yr grinding plant in Arusha are progressing. Discussions about the project with the authorities originally started in 2016, according to the Daily News newspaper. At present the cement company transports cement to the region using a freight train that was recently inaugurated.

They say pictures speak a thousand words and I hope your brothers have learnt something from this picture.

1. If it's true it was not viable (a white elephant as some of you call it), why did Kikwete launch it? And why has it taken so long to build? Why do you launch a project that's not viable in the first place?

2. It's crystal clear that you don't know what's happening in your own country (because you have chosen to keep yourself busy with the happenings in Kenya). In that link I shared, Bagamoyo port is a pipe dream because Magufuli already suspended its construction meaning you will not see it materialize in the near future. Not because it's not viable, but because hamna pesa. Nashangaa zile pesa za ndani zilienda wapi!
