Battle: Dar es Salaam vs Nairobi

Hiyo ni kutokana na ufujaji mkubwa wa pesa uliokua ukifanywa na wakurugenzi wa hizo taasisi, wengi walikua na uwezo wa kujipangia mishahara na matumizi ya anasa vile wapendavyo.

Ulisikia habari ya boards mbalimbali kufanya vikao vya boards Dubai badala ya Tanzania?, ulisikia kuhusu uwekezaji katika miradi isiyokua na tija ili muradi kuna 10%?, matokeo yake mashirika yalikua ni mzigo kwa Serikali kutegemea ruzuku ya Serikali kujiendesha?, sasa hivi hayo mashirika yote yameanza kujitegemea, hayapewi tena ruzuku, na mengi yaneanza kutoa gawio kwa Serikali na baadhi yaneanza kuwekeza katika viwanda, KILIMO na katika madini. Kati ya uwekezaji katika maeneo hayo na kujenga majumba wapi kuna tija zaidi?
Umemjibu vizuri mkuu. Na kwa hayo malalamiko yake nimeamini huyu ni mojawapo ya waliokua wanatelezea ganda la ndizi kwenye hizo sector zilivyokua zinajipangia sasa zimebanwa.
 
Huwezi kujenga miji yote kwa Mara moja, sasa hivi ni Dar na Dodoma, wakati huo huo barabara za kuunganisha mikoa na Wilaya zinaendelea, tukimaliza huko ni zamu ya Arusha na Mwanza. Kenya kamwe usiwasifie katika hili, priorities zao ni za ajabu sana, Kenya watu wanakufa kwa njaa kila mwaka, wanategemea Chakula cha msaada, lakini Serikali ipo busy kukopa mapesa mengi kujenga barabara za juu mijini, pesa ambazo zingetosha kuweka mifumo mizuri ya umwagiliaji maji na kuwakomboa wakulima na wafugaji kule Turkana.

Tanga, Mtwara, Lindi, Shinyanga, Singida, Ruvuma, Kigoma, Mara, Lindi, na mikoa mingi mingi ukiacha Mbeya, Dar, Arusha na Mwanza, na sasa hivi Dodoma, hakuna kabisa tatizo la msongamano wa MAGARI.

Tanga kwa mfano, unaweza kukaa hata nusu saa na usione Gari lolote linapita City centre zaidi ya baiskeli na pikipiki, hali ni mbaya zaidi kwa Lindi na Mtwara.

Iringa wamejengewa barabara nne, lakini hakuna MAGARI yoyote yanayoitumia, labda ni chini ya 25% ya matumizi ya hii barabara.

Tunduma kuelekea mpanda, huko ndio usiseme, hata masaa mawili yanaweza kupita bila hata Gari moja kupita. Kaka lazima ukubali kwamba mipango ni matumizi, Tanzania kwa sasa ni Mimi michache sana yenye msongamano wa magari.

Kenya hawana mipango mizuri katika vipaumbele vya nchi. Kenya wanatatizo kubwa sana la njaa, maji na ardhi kwa wananchi wa kawaida, nilitegemea Serikali yao kuwekeza pesa nyingi katika hayo maeneo kabla ya kukimbilia katika barabara za njia NNE. Kwanza wafikishe barabara za lami nchi nzima, kuna maeneo mengi ya Kenya hakuna barabara kabisa, vipi wanaanza kufikiria njia NNE kabla ya kufikisha njia mbili?

Kwa hiyo jibu fupi hilo jengo sio la sekta binafsi ...... najua unaweza kuwa na msukumo wa kisiasa katika majibu na mtazamo wako ....sio dhambi kila mmoja ana dini na mtazamo wake katika maisha ....isipokuwa facts haz badiliki.....naona kwa jibu lako kuna kitu kama JK era vs JPM era?! This very huge topic ....each era has postives and negatives.....however I can conclude JK era was beloved to the elites(Top government officials and business tycoons) who had acess to Govt’s cash in one way or the other and in turn they created this bubble economy , the economy expirienced this huge cash circulation on market which was not supported with actual production of goods and services because to large extent the cash in the circulation was ill gotten cash from public coffers/ public housing projects (here there were alot of corrution through these realestate deals making the final product very expensive a customer ...most of finished houses/tall buildings are lying empty) as well as illegal deals like drugs/poaching eg tusker.

Under JK era public sector would only have dreamt to excute mega projects like the ones are being done now as it was largely bankrapt government not because there was no cash but because of its poor ability to collect and manages public Revenues/resources ....WHILE JPM era it’s a period as u can see yourself where public sector benefits more than a few individuals/elites ranging from top government officials to business tycoons.

There is no false cash circulation /bubble economy ...since the rooting of government cash , illegal deals and corrution has been sigifificantly reduced unlike JK’s these people rooted the cash from gtv coffers/made corrupt deals/from illegal deals like drug/poaching and spent it like there is no tommorow .... in turn the situation created this false cash circulation on the street level. JMP era circulation is based on production of services and goods as well as legal deals which is the real economy.
Aise,mkuu,umeweka vitu wazi sana,ni kweli JK alikuwa na yake mazuri tu,ila,mabaya mengi kuliko ya JPM!Ndio maana hata uchaguzi wa mwaka huu wa awamu ya pili ya JPM,hutafanana na wa JK.Huyu jamaa yupo very desperate sana,anaujua ukweli,ni wa kumpuuza tu.
 
Kuna sehemu zingine zitahitaji pesa nyingi kutengeneza zaidi ya two lanes, mfano Kwa mwanza ile Musoma road huwa naona kule waliishia 3 lanes sijajua kama ni mazingira ndio yalipelekea maana upande mmoja kuna mlima na upande wa pili kuna bonge na mto just near the road, walichokifanya ni kuanza kujenga njia mbadala, sijajua kama 6 lanes zinawezekana kupita baadhi ya sehemu labda zipite juu, moja kwa moja swala la gharama litahusika,

DAR ES SALAAM, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Large vessels from across the world will soon be able to anchor in Tanzania's largest Dar es Salaam Port following upgrades undertaken by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC).

In July 2017, Tanzanian President John Magufuli officially launched the project to upgrade the east African nation's largest port, which mainly involves the upgrade of seven existing berths and the building of a new berth.

The upgrade will enable large vessels with a load carrying capacity of up to 70,000 tonnes to dock at the port, while currently the port accommodates vessels with a capacity of under 30,000 tonnes, said Wallace Rugalema, a site engineer for CHEC, who has high expectations for the ongoing project.

"The upgrade of the Dar es Salaam Port by the CHEC will definitely boost the port's handling capacity of cargo from across the world," said Rugalema, adding that the upgrade project also deepens the anchorage and strengthens the yard at the port.

Feasibility report for the project shows that the port's cargo handling capacity will be increased to about 17.65 million tonnes per year upon completion of the upgrade, a 26-percent increase over the current capacity.

Last year, Tanzanian Foreign Minister Palamagamba Kabudi said the expansion of the Dar es Salaam Port is a vivid example of Tanzania's participation in the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, adding that the country is committed to unlocking the potential of interlinked production networks and value chains that are enshrined in the initiative.

According to the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), the Dar es Salaam Port handles about 95 percent of the country's international trade and serves the neighboring landlocked countries like Malawi, Zambia, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda.

The port is strategically placed to serve as a convenient freight linkage not only to and from East and Central African countries but also to the Middle and Far East, Europe, Australia and America, the TPA said.

For Tanzanian workers on the project site, upgrading their country's largest part is an opportunity to update their own skills.

Rugalema said that Tanzanian engineers and trainees working on the project benefit from the technical know-how provided by their Chinese colleagues.

Edwine Christopher, the CHEC human resources officer, said that the project, 80 percent of which has been completed, provided jobs to 900 Tanzanians.

Asked how the COVID-19 outbreak impacted the project, Christopher said that CHEC management observed all prevention and protection guidelines provided by health authorities to ensure employee safety.

"The guidelines included hand washing, wearing of face masks and social distancing," said Christopher, adding that "luckily all employees are safe to date." Enditem
