I personally think our defensive woes are a cocktail of personnel mediocrity (40%) on one hand but also an ineffective defending system on the other (this in my opinion accounts for 60% of the problem).

I know JK likes his teams to go gung-ho. he isn't someone to ask his players to do the out-and-out defending - he therefore needs help on this aspect.

thinking outside the silo...goalkeepers have got their own coaches, why the same cannot be adopted on the defending? why can't JK for example utilise the experience of someone like Callagher to be his technical assistant in this area?

defending is more of a mental attribute than physical prowess... remember Martin Skrtel? Callagher would be more than capable of instilling this attribute into the likes of Lovren.

otherwise (unless this JK 's gamble miraculously pays off which I doubt) we have to brace ourselves up for one long heart-jerking, mental-straining and gut-shuttering hell of a season once more!
