Though not mentioning a specific sum, the Metro states that an agreement was reached in the last few days, and that Paulinho is expected to sign on officially before the World Cup kicks off.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sanslight]The 25-year-old made headlines at the Confederations Cup last year, but has failed to significantly make an impact at White Hart Lane and hasn't justified the money Andre Villas-Boas spent on him. The likes of Roma and Real Madrid have also been named in connection with purchasing him at some point in the near future, but it would appear that Chelsea have now won the race.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sanslight]If the reports are true then it will surely mean that Mourinho is planning on selling one or more of the midfielders he currently has at his disposal. Whilst having a plethora of options isn't necessarily a bad thing, the fact that there are almost ten players vying for a spot in the same position at the west London club will certainly mean that the Portuguese boss is set to reevaluate his squad.[/FONT]

1) Rafa took over at Chelsea in the middle of the season, yet he went on to win them a European trophy
2) Mourinho took over right from the season outset...he's doomed to finish the season empty handed!
