The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Ltd is a joint venture company owned by four major shareholders:EACOP is controlled by total. Nyinyi ni joyriders Tu. If total didn't see the need to build a refinery there, mbadhani walikuwa wajinga?🤣🤣😂.
EACOP will export all the oil to refine somewhere then resell the refined oil back to you🤣😂

Unatupigia kelele. To have power in share company is per article of pertnership:
Both UNOC and TPDC hold permanent seats on the EACOP Ltd Board of Directors, giving them direct involvement in executive decisions, auditing, and corporate oversight.
Strategic corporate decisions (such as major debt financing, changes to the company charter, or shareholder dilution) typically require supermajority approval 80%+. This grants Uganda and Tanzania effective blocking power over major structural changes.
The physical pipeline spans 1,443 km (296 km in Uganda, 1,147 km in Tanzania). Both states control land acquisition, eminent domain, and transit corridors. Without state approval, construction and transit cannot happen.
Both governments enforce national environmental impact assessments, transit tariffs, and safety regulations. They retain the legal right to halt operations for non-compliance.
Both nations mandated legally binding "Local Content" quotas, requiring EACOP to award a set percentage of contracts, supply chain jobs, and engineering roles to Ugandan and Tanzanian citizens and firms.
Transit fees, port handling fees (at Chongoleani Peninsula, Tanga), and national taxes are governed by agreements ratified by both host parliaments, securing long-term revenue pipelines regardless of equity splits.
Sasa wewe kajamba nani kutoka kenya unajua haya. Kwenye Law Tanzania is the best in East and Central Africa
