Over half of remittances comes from the US and Canada ( mostly the US)… count my share of about $10k a year ( Ksh. 1.2 million) and I am not counting any projects money I send. This coming August I am a guest of honor in a church fundraiser. I intend to give at least $5k personal donation plus more from friends. Now multiply that by thousands of other Kenyan born residents in the US and you can understand how we have the power to run Tanzania economy.
