Of course we have slums. We don't thrive on denial like you do. But if I showed you some of the places ranked as slums in Nairobi, you'll be amazed. They are a million times better than your sprawling uswazi hovels. Google Githurai and Ruai; two areas listed as slums to see fo yourself.

Secondly, those mabati houses are limited to specific slums. There are areas listed as slums but you'll never find mabati houses.

Lastly, i don't know what you'll say in the next few years going by the current slum upgrades. If Mukuru is not an eye opener for you, then you are in for a rude shock!

Kenyans value land more than money… btw I just got an opportunity for a good deal in Tana River area last month and I got myself 30 acres on a throw away price ( 4.5 mil) .. I am watching the spaceport development at Kipini with hawk eyes ..If you are interested, I think they might still have a couple of lots left .. ( inbox me)
