Trade between tz and burundi, even if 100% of it moved to the train overnight, doesn't even come close to justifying such an investment.

Kibera is a slum 99% of houses built by mabati no sewage system,no electricity,no proper water supply.
In our Tanzania informal settlements houses are built by bricks,there is proper sewage system somehow,there is electric supply and there is proper water supply every street.
Mitaa yote wanayoleta wenzako Tandale,Manzese,Msimbazi hiyo mitaa yote hadi Mwananyamala haukosi huduma muhimu za kijamii hadi zahanati. In Kibera slum can you get these services?

You are entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts. It’s not that complicated. Read Matatu cartel politics and how the issue has been a hindrance to any BRT initiative. Eventually the issue will be resolved with a compromise whereby the Matatu industry will somehow be considered or incorporated into the plans and implementation. How?… I don’t have an answer for you yet ..

Whatever you think Tanzanian can do, Kenya can do it ten times bigger coz we got the capacity that’s better than yours. The point I was making is if export prices are better, why not let farmers cash in . We can figure out other rice sources. I support the President if he can sign that rice deal. Same way the US exports oil and yet imports oil too because exporting it in the world market is more profitable. Let’s take care of our farmers first.

Nairobi is in most parts is a formalised city since it was founded but at somepoint it got overwhelmed by population growth and rural urban migration.
So what used to be temporary informal holdings scattered here and there in river banks along Nairobi became severely congested.
This problem was neglected by previous governments because of politics but the current regime is trying to sort out the mess with affordable housing and Nairobi rivers regeneration projects.

Meanwhile Tz should be more careful of dar turning into another lagos with informal settlements as far as the eyes can see.
