Which is correct grammar but still makes no sense. The word 'misconceptions' is already enough - it alludes to a non factual opinion.
The correct wording should be:-
'..............their opinions/judgement/viewpoint/belief have been proven false'
or simply
'...................they had misconceptions about us.'
Simple grammar sir.
