Lets address the issue in the elephant in the room by addressing the issue of Kibra the largest slum in the world, the above picture shows the Nubian community being given a title deed for Kibra which is about 290 acres.Land in Karen is about Kes.55 Million per acre which is about Tzs.1.15 Billion around langata not far from Karen is about Kes.35millionTzs.735 Million per acre, so for the title deed they have been given this means they are sitting on an asset worth Kes.10 Billion or Tzs.211 Billion, the total people in Kibra is estimated to be about 250, 000, how many houses can Kes.10 Billion/Tzs.211 Billion build if the Nubian community decides to sell that land to the government?
 
Lets reason with facts, all those people in Tanzania that have cars did they buy them cash ama asset financing inawasaidia, this is also applicable in Kenya, kuna methods za kuafford land, you can take a loan/Asset financing, even most people that build expensive homes get mortgages and pay after a period of time, this is also true in Tanzania where the money you commit on rent can be committed to paying a mortgage over a spread out period of time and the land and house built is used as security, the same in the states it actually one of the things affected recession, don't think you have banks to store your money only boss, id even prefer the system we have in Kenya rather the one in Tanzania as it makes people come out of their comfort zones and work towards having land, the kikuyu community believes very much in owning land so as much as land in Nairobi is expensive we have those that had been bought by our grandparents and are passed down through generations, same applies in other parts of the country, hii reasoning ya wakenya hawana mashamba hapo umedanganywa ile shamba wanazo in up country and those that can afford Nairobi also have, its every Kenyan effort to buy land, that has been imprinted in our culture, we'd rather buy land first then a car later than vice versa, if not we can inherit from our parents.
Utofauti mkubwa uliopo wa Ku miliki ardhi ni kwamba Tanzania ardhi yote ni Mali ya serekali , uwezi ukamiliki ardhi kubwa katikati la DSM na huja endeleza na serekali ikuache ,serekali itakupa notice ukishindwa wananchi wanagaiwa, serekali uku inaona ni bora wananchi wengi wewe na ardhi ndogo za kujenga kuliko bwanyenye moja limiliki

Tofauti na kenya jitu moja lina own land unakuta ata robo ya Nairobi na mnaliacha tu kwanini msiishie kuishi kibera na Ku rent dormitory

Mkuu wa Mkoa wa Dar es Salaam Paul Makonda ametangaza mfumo mpya kwa madereva Taxi jijini Dar es Salaam ambao unatarajiwa kuanza hivi karibuni ukihusisha matumizi ya mashine maalum ya kutoa risiti kwa abiria na nauli kutozwa kutokana na umbali tofauti na makadirio yanayofanyika sasa.

Lengo la mfumo huo ni kuboresha mapato ya serikali, kuhakikisha abiria analipa nauli iliyosahihi pamoja na kuimarisha usalama wa abiria kufuatia kubainika kwa Vitendo vya wizi na Uporaji vinavyofanywa na baadhi ya madereva wa taxi hususan zisizosajiliwa.

Akizungumza katika Mkutano wa pamoja na madereva wa taxi katika jiji la dsm, maafisa wa mamlaka ya mapato tanzania TRA, kamanda wa kamati ya ulinzi ya mkoa wa Dar es Salaam Paul Makonda amesema utaratibu uliopo sasa umepitwa na wakati kutokana na abiria kutozwa fedha nyingi bila kuzingatia Umbali, pamoja na kutokuwepo kwa usalama wa kutosha kwa abiria kutokana ongezeko la taxi bubu.

Kwa upande wao viongozi wa madereva hao wamedai kukabiliwa na changamoto mbalimbali ikiwemo utitiri wa taxi bubu, kutozwa kiasi kikubwa cha kodi na ada mbalimbali , kuzagaa kwa bajaji.

Hata kibera sidhani kama utapata land ya 50K, competition in nairobi is at its own level, land is not sold for pennies, if you want yo buy land worth 100k maybe you go outside Nairobi. That is because of the competition, plus as long as you buy the plot you are also sure of return on your investment hata usipoijenga, baada ya muda mfupi itakuwa imepanda.
Mimi natoka Kericho, kuna wakati nilikuwa nahitaji pesa kuanzisha biashara fulani some time last year nikaamua kuuza plot fulani 1/8th of an acre in a small centre huko kwetu. The highest buyer was offering 150,000. I couldn't take such an ammount because according to me that place is worth more. Right now that place has even appreciated.
