Shift Engineer
Reporting to: Plant manager
Job Purpose:
To monitor over all section for quality and quantity production is safe manner in his / her shift.
Monitoring equipment’s, operation and utilize man power effectively for the smooth operation.
Focus on man power productivity with zero accidents.
Key responsibilities
Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Go through the shift report register for monitoring the previous day plant operation and performance.
Interact with the shift operators and shift technician regarding any abnormalities.
Monitoring of all operating parameters and checking all related trends for the operational behaviour.
Responsible for the complete activity including the control room operation and site activities.
Responsible for man power allocation as per requirements.
Coordinates with all interventions in case of break down.
Take over the direct responsibility for the control any unit in case of complicated situation.
Ensure proper use of the equipment in particular to avoid damage.
Ensure quality and quantity of product in the shift.
Responsible for stoppage analysis in his shift with the clear reason and also responsible for stoppage booking against responsible departments after detail analysis.
Take site round.
Any abnormalities in equipment will take up with the concerned department for maintenance and back in operation after maintenance during the shift.
Cross check the activity of the control room operator, engineer, technical patroller and other field staff.
Modification of the equipment, change of parameter as per system requirement.
Calibrate the weigh feeders by physical measurement of material and correction as per requirements.
Ensure the maintenance request system in place and properly filled for the breakdown and attached the duplicate request form with the production report.
Maintain safety PPE’s for all shift staff.
Guarantee the safety of the equipment and of the people working under his responsibility.
Take care and prevent all unsafe practices.
Take care all housekeeping of section with timely and good disposal practice.
Training and development of the people for existing and new assignment.
Perform any related task as may be assigned by his/ her supervisor.
Minimum requirements
Educational Qualifications: Diploma/ Bachelor degree of a Technical or Engineering
Nationality: Tanzanian/ Non-Citizen
Work Experience: 2 years + in the same field
Proven track record of success in implementing new procedures and processes, which led to cost savings and improved quality, safety, and profit.
Ability to coach, train, and motivate employees.
Other requirements (if any)
Basic knowledge of cement production process.
Good knowledge of control room operations
