I like the look of Berge..Five players Liverpool could sign ahead of January transfer window
Liverpool are flying high at the top of the Premier League table.
But Jurgen Klopp has shown the European champions will never take their eye off the ball as they aim to establish themselves as a dominant force.
Klopp is always on the lookout for new players despite the strength of his first-team in a bid to build for the future.
They have already agreed a deal to sign Takumi Minamino - but he could be joined by further names.
Here's a rundown of five players who could link up with Liverpool in the January transfer window as they consider further additions.
Sander Berge
Jurgen Klopp was left impressed by Sander Berge in Champions League action for Genk.
The Norwegian youngster has been linked with a move to Liverpool - and that could be fast-tracked due to injury to Fabinho.
The classy midfielder has opened the door to a move to the Reds in January, although Napoli, West Ham and Chelsea have also been linked with his signature.
Discussing a potential move in the Belgian press, Berge said: "Winter or summer, every transfer period there is a lot of speculation about my future. But at the moment, there’s nothing concrete, and that’s just the truth.
“Playing Champions League with Racing Genk was a dream come true for me, but it’s not because that adventure is over that I absolutely want to leave now.
“If the right club comes forward and puts the right amount on the table for me then we can talk.
“Otherwise I’ll just stay with Racing Genk until the end of this season.”
Timo Werner
RB Leipzig goal machine Timo Werner could be set for a January departure, with Liverpool long linked with a move for the Germany striker.
Werner has been a star performer for the Bundesliga side in recent years, and boss Julian Nagelsmann recently admitted they would not stand in his way if he received a better offer from elsewhere.
“I’ve already advised many players to take off their wedding ring with their current club to move somewhere else,” he said.
“I’d do the same with Timo Werner if he were developing faster than the team at RB Leipzig.”
But Werner will have no shortage of potential suitors.
Bayern Munich are big admirers, whilst Chelsea are considering a move with their transfer ban lifted and numerous other top clubs have been linked.
He may not be keen to join Liverpool given Roberto Firmino has nailed down the starting spot at No.9, although the Reds would be keen to add him for more enviable squad depth.
Kai Havertz
Talented playmaker Kai Havertz is being linked with a move to the Premier League.
Like Germany team-mate Werner, he is attracting plenty of interest with Manchester United and Chelsea also linked with a move.
Havertz would cost a huge price, with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly demanding £111m for his signature.
But the 20-year-old is regarded as one of the top talents in European football for a reason, and Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to act.
A move in January looks less likely than in the summer, however, as he looks to avoid risking a transition period which could impact his Euro 2020 hopes with Germany next summer.
Mathieu Goncalves
Given the strength of their current side, the Reds have regularly looked to young players with one eye on the future in recent months.
Having added the likes of Sepp van den Berg, Harvey Elliott and Ki-Jana Hoever, a left-back is now reportedly on their radar.
Reports in France claim 18-year-old left-back Mathieu Goncalves could be targeted for a January move.
The Toulouse teenager made his senior debut against Paris Saint-Germain in August and is being tipped for a bright future after three more appearances since.
A move would likely not break the bank and certainly fits in with Jurgen Klopp's recent transfer policy.
Ben White
Brighton defender Ben White has starred on loan at Leeds United - prompting admiring glances from the Premier League.
Whilst Manchester United are said to be monitoring the 22-year-old, Liverpool have been credited with the most genuine interest.
White has kicked-on and shown his potential at Elland Road and would no doubt find it hard to turn down a chance to join Liverpool.
Leeds will be keen to keep him for the rest of the season, but there is nothing to stop a deal with Brighton - tipped to cost around £20million - from later seeing him sent back to Yorkshire for the remainder of the season.
Man May 2020 comes early than expected haha I means just the bought of Anfield Streets from the docks to every corner they will erupt man rejoicing its finally home..Looool, we've won the league already, kitakachozuia tusibebe kombe this season ni labda itokee WW3..
Man, Gomez is a special talent, a very good Centre-back..
Uzuri wa Gomez, huwa anapata "big" injuries ambazo zinakuwa na time-frames, injuries za kina Lovren/Matip ni mbaya sana, muscular injuries ni mbaya sana because zinatokea mara kwa mara, hence ni ngumu sana kwa Lovren kumaliza games 6-7 in a row bila injuries..
But, its so good kuona Gomez amerudi kwenye his best form.

ngoja nichokonoe mapovu ya wadau hapa..... hahahaaa!!
am not sure about this stat but it's alleged that tangu Hendo recently alipoanza kucheza as a DM baada ya Fabi kuumia, LFC imeweza kupata clean sheets kwenye hizo games zote.
kama hii stat ni sahihi, swali linakuja....
je, is it a coincidence or Hendo's impact after position switch?
mapovu kutoka pande zote ruksaa!!
Lakini tunakawaida ya kupata magoli mengi Salah akiwa nje unalizungumziaje hili?My favorite LFC player kwasasa ni Roberto Firmino.
But, i like to appreciate WC players wanaoipa mafanikio club ninayoi-support kila siku, & Salah ni mmoja wapo.
