If 2018 was Dejan Lovren's best year as a professional, the early signs for 2019 aren't particularly great.

When Liverpool were last at the Etihad in the Champions League in April, the Croat produced arguably his finest performance for the club.

This time, though, bore all the hallmarks of one of those troubled, indecisive, stuttering shows that encapsulated his first 18 months at the club.

It wasn't just that Lovren lost Sergio Aguero for the opener.

In the second half, a succession of bad decisions almost cost Liverpool a third goal and sent ripples through a defence that conceded twice in a Premier League game for the first time since the 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion in April.

My thoughts on our team's (LFC's) chances & priorities this season:

There's justified pressure from the football fraternity that come what may, LFC under Klopp must lift at least one of the major trophies this season.

EPL, UCL, FA Cup & League Cup were all on offer at the beginning of the season. We're already out of the League Cup, now chasing the remainder. My question is.... has Klopp & co lined up any priorities to land at least one of these?

As far as EPL is concerned, we're hovering over the top of the league 4 points clear off the chasing pack. So there seems to be some hope there and with the way our team is currently playing (bar injuries, etc) we may have a chance. However, we all know it's not going to be a smooth ride between now and May. So I rate our chance of being England champs at 50%.

UCL is a hard nut to crack on one hand but it could be the easiest on the other. This is because it hinges on very small margins.... including luck. I think we're currently stronger than B. Munich and with the way Klopp sets the team up to play in this competition we'll overcome this hurdle with ease. Who we face after that, squad fitness situation, fixture congestion, refereeing decisions, a ball failing to cross the line by 1 cm (refer our recent match vs Man City), etc - these are the small details that'll likely determine our fate in this competition. I also rate ourselves at 50% to lift this trophy.

Finally (not least in its importance though) is the FA Cup. For me this is a MUST win competition regardless of what happens to the others. There's already a LFC fear factor amongst all the English teams, so we should capitalise on this situation by sweeping everyone we face aside with ease.
On Monday we're playing away vs Wolverhampton in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. We must overcome this hurdle first and foremost and am confident we will. I don't even have to rate our chances in this competition because WE SIMPLY HAVE TO WIN IT!

Above is my personal opinion. My thoughts could as well be misplaced but I think every genuine LFC supporter should feel obliged to think in these lines... that no "priorities list" is likely to find us end up empty-handed once again at the end of the season.... and boy that'll be extremely painful!
