my verdict for liverpool so far.....
two games may not give the real impression of the team but early signs promises better season than the diabolical 2014/15 season...which
one thing that has stood out for us in these two games is resolute defending, a rare feature in bogerman's teams...liverpool have defended realy well in these two games and have showed resiliance of their own granted it hasnt been sternly tested.but its worth noting that this defending has compromised our attack.one hand is more than adequate to count chances we have created in 180 minutes of football, bogerman is still struggling to have good balance in the team..he cant set his team to defend while being dealy in attack, and vice versa...having our attacking minded players like coutinho firmino lallana to vigorously chase down oppositions realy snuff out their attacking prowess and this in result, invites oppositions in our territories. br has to get his best attacking players doing what they do best...liverpool cant maintain the intensity they are employing in their game for whole season ,i can see them unravel in near future.
gomes and clyne are incredibly defencive minded players and they are main reason for our improved defence. but their glaring ineptness on the ball will be cause of concern when the urge to attack rises up..clyne defending is in the league completely unknown to our former fullbacks but his ability on the ball is quite limited.he reminds me of fully fit kelly under keny daglish.with bogerman being cagy at this stage of the season,it makes perfect sense to have fullbacks who sit back and defend..liverpool needs wins to boost their confidence which will hopefully make them adventerous as the season unfold
double pivot of milner and henderson is still fitting square pegs in round holes...and i wonder how long does it take for bogus to get the better of his ineptness...never at one point of their career have hendo and milner showed a bit of what required to be holding the midfield... these are industrious footballers whose best attributes are their energetic runs (third man runs in midfield)..having them as double pivot significantly restrict their games as they cant make those runs..they need to have licence to go foward and a strong holding midfielder would allow them to do so...this patnership will be found wanting after handful of games....
-ibe isnt cutting the mustard, atleast thats how his two outings have suggested. those comparing him to sterling needs to have a grip. AYB is still long way off although he may change that in course of the season...the only reason he is getting in the team is because he is the only player in the squad who adds width in our play, and this brings me to this point, liverpool lacks width..they cant get from lallana, firminho or coutinho who loves to come inside too often..our fullbacks also are significantly poor in that department..so thats is why ibe is getting a look in albeit he isnt quite up to scratch... in english premier league where defence are well organized and compact, u got to have width.its width that mainly stretches oppositions and pull them out of their shapes..this is one reason why we havent been able to create chances so far..i look at top four teams and they all have it in abundance.. chelsea gets it from ivanovic, willian and ofcourse hazard. mancs have it courtsey of januzaj,young,shaw,mephis..arsenal aint short of it either as they have sanchez, walcot,ox,ozil, monreal and debuchy... city have sterling kolarov zabaleta and ofcourse navas....
-benteke gives us new dimension and i have been impressed by his runs and positioning.;..but he is still someone who blossoms with crosses. his goal came from cross and so did his best chance when he hit the bar..his presence has made us more direct and this has delt our passing little detrement. alot of times our players look to whack it on air for benteke which is not a bad thing as it allows us to have that unpredictability upfront...
-br is trying justifying paying alot of money for lallana and lovren but he is left dissapointment by his futile attempt..lallana adds very little in our team and he has to make way for firminho who should be hitting the ground running for the money we have splurged on.i dont get this easing in firmino in new league,u expect immediate impact from a player of firminho's talent and ability.cnt in the world of me fathom why lovren is preferred ahead of sakho who was Orchestrating our attacks from the back..i cnt understand why the bogus dropped sakho who was our best cb last season,so would anybody with clear state of mind.there r some players who will inevitably be dropped regardless of how good they are and this is my main misgiving of bogerman, the bias wanker...he is mistreating players signed by committee and giving all the chances to the dross he has signed.
- bogerman has swallowen his subsequent pride of being ''someone who would rather lose when trying to win rather than winning while defending''..this was bull ---- notion that he was waxing lyrical about..he now understands that defending gives a team the platform to attack, the more he bears it in his mind the better
does our gaffer have conviction in what he supposedly refers as his philosphy? he has been anything but what he sold himself for when he came here. now the team lacks recognizable shape and there is no real identity. no build up from the back as our cbs hoof the ball at every chance...no fluidity in attack, nothing to write home about realy.one would argue that at this early stage of the season its all about getting resut..it's substance over style, fair enough but this doesnt bode well as far as manager's philosophy is concerned. what i beleive is that the philosophy brendan has isnt pre set to yield success.it hasnt worked out for him and now we see the shift in his approaches..its safe to assume that he has conceded defeat in implementing the philosophy he had in his head when he came here...as long as liverpool keeps winning, thats all what realy matter, but in long run this will affect us as the gaffer does not seem to have recognized system to propel this team forward....
