....talking about American English VS British English, for some reasons I find it funny every time I hear British kids speaking American English in their heavy British accent 🙂

I find it amusing as well.

But what can you do really.....American culture is the dominant world culture right now.

You wouldn't even have bongo fleva but for American culture in the form of hip hop.

I haven't even touched on Hollywood's influence on the whole movie industry.

Americans don't use 'washroom'.

They either use 'bathroom' or 'restroom' to mean toilet or lavatory.

Nowadays many folks even prefer to use American English to British English.....from the accent, spelling, vocabulary, even the date format.

It's slowly getting there....

I'm a huge boxing fan.

And right now the UK heavyweight boxing scene has more pizzaz than America.

Before the fights they usually have weigh ins. I have seen it with my very eyes and heard it with my very ears, when announcing the fighters' weights they use pounds [lbs].

Although they do also announce the weights in terms of stone, but still you can see how that American system is slowly creeping itself in.....

almost whole world has stopped using the imperial system.

scientists use the metric system I.e gram, metre, °C etc because its better and logical.

its the Americans who should change.

if we dare go back to using imperial units just because the Great America uses them, I'll just die. and we might as well go back to using roman numbers.
