Maneno ya Jose Mourinho kuelekea mechi yetu ya Jumapili na vijana wa Aserne Wenger
Jose Mourinhos record against Arsenal is a good one but our manager does not think that will count for anything when the two teams from the capital meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The managers weekly pre-match press conference took place in a very busy Cobham conference room, with those journalists in attendance eager to hear Mourinhos thoughts ahead of our first London derby of the season.
The first thing they wanted to find out was the latest on Diego Costa, the in-form striker with eight Chelsea goals to his name so far this season. The striker has been called up by Spain ahead of their next Euro 2016 qualifiers, as have compatriots Cesc Fabregas and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Last month Mourinho said Diego Costa was unable to play three matches in a week and his situation would be carefully monitored to aid his recovery from an injury picked up on international duty. Today he explained why he is available for selection for our match with Arsenal, having started against Aston Villa and Sporting Lisbon in the previous seven days.
'My reaction to the news that hes in the Spanish squad is to have no reaction because its something I could already imagine,' Mourinho said. 'Its not a surprise for me.
'Can he play three matches in a week? I think its too much, but hes going to do that. And why is he going to do that? Because Im not going to save him to be in perfect condition for the national team.
'This week we have three very important matches. The Champions League match was crucial for us after a bad result at home. We needed that victory away so I had to go with everything and everybody. It is an important match against Arsenal, and being the last one in that busy period for the club, he plays.
'He had the match in Lisbon, he will have had these four days in between, and so he will be in an okay condition. What happens in the days after that [with his national team] is not my responsibility.'
In other squad news provided by the manager, Mourinho reported the injured duo of Ramires and Didier Drogba would have no chance of featuring against the Gunners. The rest of the squad are fit.
With Diego Costas availability established, discussion soon centred on this Sundays London derby between the only two sides still unbeaten in the Premier League.
In the corresponding fixture last season the Blues ran out 6-0 winners, while our manager remains unbeaten in matches against his opposite number on Sunday, Arsene Wenger.
However, despite recent results favouring the blue side of London, Mourinho was keen to stress the history between the teams is not relevant when it comes to Sundays match.
'6-0 is once every 50 years, its not year after year, he said. Its something that happens occasionally. And me against Arsene Wenger? I never had the pleasure to play one against one against him - beach soccer or something I never had that pleasure.
'It was always between Chelsea and Arsenal, and even that doesnt play an important part in Sundays game. Its isolated, out of context. What happened in the past, happened in the past. This is another match.
'Can we win again? Yes we can, but its a big match against a very good team and a difficult one.
I like to play against the best. The players like it too. Sometimes we are worried about the focus and the approach, but when you play big matches you know the players are more than ready for that.
If selected on Sunday, Cesar Azpilicueta will make his 100th appearance for the club since joining from Marseille a little over two years ago.
Hes a fantastic professional, commented Mourinho when queried what it was like to work with the Spaniard.
Hes a right-back, a left-back, a winger, what we want. Hes a typical squad player. He behaves and works exactly the same way whether hes playing or not playing.
Hes a fantastic team player - thats why, one month ago, the club decided to give him a new contract because hes the kind of boy you want to keep.
Mourinho was also asked about the Rooney rule, which dictates American football clubs interview minority candidates for high-level coaching positions. Mourinho believes there shouldnt be any discrimination at the top of the sport when it comes to selecting managers and that coaches should be chosen on merit.
There is no racism in football. If you are good you are good. If you are good you get the job.
If you are good you prove that you deserve the job, and football is not stupid to close doors to top people. If you are top, you are top.
