Cheryl Cole sent Ashley Cole a text message to tell him their marriage was over, it was reported today.
She sent the message "Move out. It's over" from Los Angeles early yesterday, according to The Sun.

The newspaper said that the singer, 26, wants to put a statement out about a split by the end of the week so that she can begin to move on.
She has ordered her husband to leave their £6 million Surrey mansion before she returns to Britain, it said.
X Factor judge Cole managed to perform at the Brits but fled to the US minus her wedding ring following allegations that her husband had been unfaithful.
The England and Chelsea footballer, 29, is also alleged to have sent sex texts from his mobile.
A friend told The Sun: "Cheryl has decided enough is enough and she is going to divorce him. She has told Ashley to get out of the family home because she does not wish to see him.
"She has no desire to hear any more excuses or explanations."
A spokesperson for the Girls Aloud star refused to comment.

AMERICAN Ann Corbitt told how Ashley Cole begged for sex after texting a sleazy snap of himself in his trademark white pants.
Unimpressed Ann, 28, called them "a disgusting pair of tiny whities - briefs." She added: "It was gross. Just nasty."
Next day she met Chelsea players in a Seattle bar and Cole stuck to her "like a puppy". She said: "It never crossed my mind he might be married. Ashley was openly cuddling and kissing me."
Ann said they later had unprotected sex after Cole acted "really shocked" when she suggested he use a condom.
She said: "The sex lasted three or four hours. I was very taken aback by how intimate and how needy he was.
"It was like having sex with a boyfriend, someone who loves you."
