Tulia mkuu Mombasa vs Dar es sluum
Mombasa-based Southern Engineering Co. Ltd (Seco) has assembled two cargo vessels for the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), with capacity to handle 2,000 tonnes of dry cargo or 72 twenty-foot containers (Teus).
The barges Hapa Kazi Tu 01 and Hapa Kazi Tu 02, have been tested and certified to operate, marking a milestone in shipbuilding for the country.
Seco has also secured another contract from TPA to construct and deliver three pilot boats this year.
Seco shipyard general manager Sanjiv Nair said MV Hapa Kazi Tu 01 was completed on July 31, 2019 and both vessels are scheduled for delivery mid this month.
"The vessels will operate around Tanga port and the surrounding coastal waters," said Mr Nair.

Dar es Slum, the capital of the United Republic of Tanzania, is a collection of rundown neighbourhoods and shanty towns surrounding the concrete central business district, which also houses government offices, all without proper street names or plot numbers displayed.
Even where there used to be street names and house numbers before, like in the Swahili suburbs of Ilala, Kinondoni and Magomeni, these have disappeared.
You might think they were done away with because they were unwanted relics of the colonial era.
In the newly constructed “posh” suburbs such as Mbezi Beach and Mikocheni, where the rich and powerful have built themselves Malibu style villas, there have never been any official street names or numbers.

Unataka link? 😁😁

Dar es Salaam, from what I’ve seen so far, is very dirty. Filthy. Rats are a huge problem. Even our home, which is kept meticulously clean by Moshi and Mrs. Meghji, gets rats sometimes. Littering is not taboo here and there is trash everywhere in the streets. Trash pickup is inconsistent and the trash collection vehicle is just a big, open dump truck with two or three dudes riding in the back on top of the trash.

The streets are sort of paved and sort of dirt; when it rains everything turns to mud. Buildings are ramshackle and close together but all different. The old buildings have been added to and repaired so many times over the years that their original parts are sometimes unrecognizable. New glass and metal skyscrapers appear randomly throughout the city, without any obvious plan or reason.

Unataka link? 😁
