That's his opinion and from what he says you can smell prejudice from a mile away. First, how many Kenyans or Nigerians has he talked to before concluding that we all "have the same overestimation"? Second, have you seen Nigerian slums, they're same if not worse than Kenya's. Yes, we have slums, very big ones and no one disputes that but compared to most African countries we're better of on socioeconomic issues. However, that is not an achievement when you compare with countries like Malaysia and South Korea which are approximately the same age as Kenya.
Just an effect of rapid rural-urban migration, poor policies and fiscal oversight. Given our age and unique challenges such as tribes, I'd say we've tried.
