The project, sponsored by the United Nations Children’s Education Fund (Unicef), Barclays Bank and the Street Family Rehabilitation Trust Fund is intended to help them become self-reliant and reduce the number of street children countrywide.

Some 60 of them are at Kaiboi Technical Training Institute in Nandi North District and Ancilla Training School at Bondeni Catholic Church in Eldoret to train in mechanics, carpentry and tailoring.
