There is an ongoing project known as the Nairobi River Regeneration Project which aims to reclaim, clean and restore the polluted Nairobi ricer ecosystem. They are building a whole sewer system alongside the river to stop raw sewage being discharged into the river and control solid waste dumping. Theya re doing huge storm water drains all along the river
