The Democratic Republic of Congo is looking in to join the Uganda – Tanzania oil pipeline according to Tanzania’s Minister for Energy and Minerals, Prof Sospter Muhongo reports Daily News.

The Minister said that he will be meeting with Congo counter parts to discuss how the mineral rich country can get involved in the project. He added that Burundi and South Sudan are also expected to use the pipeline.

si ndicho nlikua naelezea juzi, congo, south sudan watajoin na Tanga itakua Refinery ya region, however kenya watakua na advantage because they will build a short pipe, kutoka Tanga mpaka mombasa sio mbali unaweza kwenda na kurudi same day

Howeve i doubt Tanzania will accept it since serikali imefocus na clean energy zaidi, $42B plant in mtwara for GAS

niko 50/50 kuna mradi wa $42B pale mtwara wa GAS alafu pia kuna gas stations kama 2 znajengwa dodoma kubwa kama ile ya dar, the way forward ya Tanzania ni kuachana na oil, labda wakubali lakini focus kubwa kuwauzia kenya and earn money 🤣
