I personally know of a major player in the industry who leases land using a Tanzanian partner ( I am a friend with his kids who reside in the US) I don’t want to create a controversy but there are many Kenyans especially from Mount Kenya region who do the same. And that’s a fact you can take to the bank. Now Kenyans are in Uganda and DRC doing the same. It’s about affordability of arable land. Kenya land is limited and the most expensive in the region therefore to be a large scale farmer you have sometimes to explore beyond the borders.
